sadly passed away on 3 June 2026, aged 69 Years. Dearly loved and missed by all his family. KNOWLES, Florence Marjorie. Nee Harrison

Of Matlock, formerly Wirksworth. On 15th June 2026 at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 99 years. Beloved Wife of the late Reginald, and a much-loved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother who will be sadly missed by all her family. Funeral Service to be held at Darley Dale Methodist Church on Wednesday 8th July at 11.00am prior to interment in Darley Dale Cemetery. ROPER, Stephen Trevor. ‘Steve’.

Of Matlock. Steve sadly passed away on 1st June 2026 at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 64 years. Loving son of Pauline, dad of Kim, Kerry, Jamie and Kayleigh, partner of Annette and grandad of Liam, Jack, Charlotte, Lilly, Riley, Josh, Esmae, Winter and Skyla. He will be greatly missed by all his family and many friends. (Late of Matlock) Passed away peacefully in hospital 22nd May 2026 aged 91 years. Loving mother of Laura, Mama to Sophie and Laurence, Catherine and Dave, GG to Bea and Jessie, Aunt of Sue and Roger. Funeral service to be held at Amber Valley Crematorium on Tuesday 30th June 2026 at 1pm. Family flowers only please. GOODWIN, David Alfred

On 6th June 2026 at his home in Tansley, aged 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Sheila and dear father of Nick and Andy. He will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. WAGSTAFFE, Stephen

Formerly of Matlock. Stephen passed away on 27th May 2026 at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, aged 62 years. Son of the late Mary and Granville, much loved Dad of Laura, Father-in-law, Grandad, and Brother, who will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Funeral Service to be held at Chesterfield Crematorium on Thursday 2nd July at 11.15am. CHAMBERS, Stuart

Stuart Chambers, Matlock’s infamous Chartered Accountant and longest standing member of Matlock Golf Club, died on 22nd May. His thanksgiving funeral will be held on Friday 19th June at 1 pm at St Peter’s Church, Parwich, followed by refreshments at the Sycamore Pub next door. If you are attending, please can the men wear a dickie-bow and the ladies a bright scarf. If you cannot attend, raise a glass in memory of his zest for life: “It was such fun.” Donations in memory of Stuart will benefit the RNLI, the Royal British Legion and St. Peter's Church, Parwich and may be given at the service or through our website.

GENT, Irene Mary

Of Wensley. Irene sadly passed away at Valley Lodge Nursing Home on 28th May, aged 86 years. Beloved Wife of the late Alan, much loved Mum of Susan and Mick, Mother-in-law of Richard and Shirley, Nanna of Hayley, Rob and Mikala. Great Nanna of Callie, Gabi and Lola. of Matlock, (formally Bonsall) has passed away on 10th April 2026 aged 71 years. Beloved husband of the late Wendy, much loved dad of Karl, Nick, Michelle, Jane and the late Jeremy. Grandad and great grandad, he will be sadly missed by all his family. Funeral service at St James the Apostle Church, Bonsall on Wednesday 20th May 2026 at 11am followed by interment at Steeple Arch Cemetery.
